The Social Justice Action Award is presented every year to an individual working at an AIMHO member school who enhances diversity and social justice awareness, understanding, and education. The award will be presented at the annual AIMHO Conference.
A successful nominee must meet the following criteria:
  • Currently employed at an AIMHO member school.
  • Must be a faculty/staff member or graduate student at an AIMHO member school. 
  • Contributes significantly to the Residence Life program and university community on his/her/hir* campus.
(* “hir” is a gender neutral derivation of the pronouns “him” and “her” [it is pronounced “here”])

In what ways this individual has promoted aspects of social justice above and beyond what is expected of him/her/hir based on their job responsibilities?

How is this individual’s commitment to social justice demonstrated in his/her/hir interactions with students, colleagues, and the community?

Has the individual impacted change on campus due to their advocacy; if so, in what ways? If not, what are their plans for continued action?

How does this person plan to continue to integrate diversity and social justice into his/her/hir future professional goals?
